Playoff Scenarios

So...The American Association has sent out an email describing the postseason scenarios...Below is the nuts and bolts...Let me put it this way...Let's take care of our end of things so the RailCats don't end up having to reach this point...

If St. Paul, Wichita and Gary finish with the same winning percentage, Gary will play at Wichita on Wednesday August 31 to determine the Central Division Champion. Winner will play @ Grand Prairie on Thursday September 1 for the first round playoffs. St. Paul would be the wild card and play at Winnipeg on September 1.

If Wichita wins the Central Division and St. Paul and Gary finish with the same winning percentage, St. Paul will play at Gary (due to travel) on Wednesday August 31 to determine the wild card. Winner plays @ Winnipeg on September 1. Wichita would play Grand Prairie beginning September 1.

If Gary wins the Central Division and St. Paul and Wichita finish with the same winning percentage, St. Paul will play at Wichita (due to travel) on Wednesday August 31 to determine the wild card. Winner plays @ Grand Prairie (due to travel) on September 1. Gary would play at Winnipeg beginning September 1.

Article VII, Section 1: "If two teams finish the season with the same winning percentage, a one-game playoff shall be held the day after the regular season at the site of the team with the best percentage against the opponent, unless the president declares one site more appropriate.”

In Contrast

In contrast to the article from Sioux City, Winnipeg Manager Rick Forney and the Winnipeg Free Press were very complimentary of the RailCats...Think it has anything to do with the RailCats performance against the Goldeyes as opposed to Sioux City?? Food for thought...

Best Group We've Ever Had

Motivation?

I was tweeting about this earlier...Check out today's article in the Sioux City Journal, more specifically the comments from Sioux City starting pitcher Nick Schumacher...

The Outfield

No I'm not talking about the band that Kyle Haines comes out to...Yesterday a request was made for a pic of the right field corner at Lewis & Clark Park where two balls ended up yesterday...You can see it is in play and the white line I was talking about on the broadcast, which helped the RailCats in the second though only momentarily...

Miles Wolff Interview

Well, since he will be in the house at Lewis & Clark Park tonight I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post the audio from my conversation with American Association Commissioner Miles Wolff on Sunday at U. S. Steel Yard...Miles joined me during the fifth inning and had many interesting things to discuss...

UPDATE: Bigger Mess in Lake County

You may have heard me talking about the Lake County Fielders mess earlier this year...Well, here is the latest...They were forced to suspend a game for the use of sub-par baseballs...Read the entire story for details below...The brawl I posted about earlier means the North American League was forced to call two games this week not due to weather...And its official...The Fielders are done...Kinda...
