RailCats 2, Explorers 1 (11 Innings)

This picture comes from today's Times and is obviously of the walk-off celebration...Cristian Guerrero with a huge dinger last night that may still have not landed...The RailCats, who had but two homers in the first 24 games, have three in the last two...Here is some of the media coverage from last evening's victory...Sidebar...Assuming the internet works on the bus I will be posting some audio on the trip of pregame interviews...

Moves a Plenty

Lots of moves made by the RailCats today...Let's start with the addition...RHP Travis Minix (Pictured) was picked up in a trade with Somerset of the Atlantic League...Minix appeared in 11 games out of the back of the bullpen for the Patriots, which ironically feature as their broadcaster former RailCats #2 Adam Amin...Minix is 33, and becomes another local product to join the club after the signing of Lorenzo Scott on Sunday, who was singed when Jeff Beachum was placed on the disabled list...Minix has been a professional since 1999, primarily as a late-inning reliever, and has played in the Rays and Phillies organizations in addition to the Mexican League...

In exchange for Minix, the RailCats shipped last night's starter, Derrick Gordon, to the Patriots...Gordon was 2-2 for the RailCats in six starts with an ERA of 4.24 in 34 innings of work...

Also, Closer David Nathanson, who was 6-of-7 in save opportunities, was shipped to the Grand Prairie AirHogs for a player to be named and cash considerations...Word is that Grand Prairie plans to use Nathanson as a starter...The righty had only two relief appearances in his career before pitching nine times out of the pen with the RailCats...

Roster is currently at 21, with an opening in the rotation...

Media Catchup

Lots of Media Coverage to catch up on...So, here we go...A lot of this deals with Lorenzo Scott...Greg Tagert joked with me yesterday that he wasn't going to answer any question about Lorenzo since he had been talking about him a lot on Sunday...Photo is from the NWI Times from last night's contest...
