Sit Down With Sexton: June 14, 2008

The Labatt Blue On Deck SHow Interview with John Sexton from yesterday...

Bullpen Banter in the Labatt Blue On Deck Show

Those of you who tuned in for the duration of last night's broadcast probably heard this twice...Bullpen Banter is a segment that will air every Saturday with the bullpen guys or in the inaugural edition's case anyone who was around in addition to the bullpen (Bryan Rembisz, Brad Roblin, and Jake Whitesides all made appearances)...It aired in the Labatt Blue On Deck Show in addition to running again during the rain delay...Don't worry guys the full edition you wanted on here will be up in Kalamazoo...but here's the one that ran on air...Jeff Williams kind of led the discussion so I put a picture of him in here...

Windy City 6, Beach Bums 5

Season high crowd at Wuerfel Park last night...can someone please tell Mother Nature to cooperate?? Delay of 1:06 in the bottom of the eighth due to rain and lightning...As the game went into delay the Beach Bums had the tying run on, when the game resumed Windy City's closer Matt Petty, who had just two save chances this season walked the bases loaded and then retired four straight to tally the save...He set a league record with 26 saves last season...Good comeback on a tough night as David Nathanson was hit with the loss, Beach Bums trailed 4-0 and 6-2 but still had chances late...Matt Imwalle drove in three runs and was the Player of the Game...He is pictured...

Full Recap

The Record-Eagle has an early Saturday deadline so games from Saturday night always appear in Monday's paper...

More Roster Moves

Another roster move today...Bryan Cryer, a RHP and former teammate of Mike Epping at the University of New Orleans in 2006 has been signed...Cryer was the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year and a Third Team All-American at New Orleans this season, finishing 12-2...RHP Matt Dillard was released...Dillard spent the end of last season and the beginning of this season with the Beach Bums...I wish him all the best...It was his idea to do the Bullpen Banter segment which will run on Saturdays through the season and debuted last night...He was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA this season in five games...
