Beach Bums 5, Chillicothe 0

And then there were five...Ryan Gehring hurled the fifth shutout of the season for the Beach Bums last night, blanking Chillicothe in a complete game effort (Photo is of Manager Jon Cahill hugging Ryan who had thrown over 130 pitches following the final out)...It was the 10th career home victory for Gehring and his second shutout of the season and third of his career...All three have come at Wuerfel Park where he is now 10-5 with a 2.26 ERA during his three seasons in Traverse City...His Farm Bureau Insurance Beach Bums After Show Interview is coming up but again he told me that he didn't feel like he had shutout stuff...Chillicothe never had a runner reach past second base...Just some notes...The Beach Bums pitching staff leads the league in ERA and shutouts...Traverse CIty had six combined shutouts in 2007 and they have five already in 2008...
