Windy City Thunderbolts Claim Second Straight Title

At the beginning of the season I thought they had a great chance, and it took only three games to happen...The Windy City Thunderbolts overcame a mid-season managerial swap and won 60 games for the second straight season and captured their second consecutive Frontier League Title, joining only the Richmond Roosters as back-to-back champs in the league...Before the 2007 season the Thunderbolts hadn't even been to the playoffs let alone win a title...This season they made it two in a row, sweeping the Kalamazoo Kings...Congratulations to first-year Manager Mike Kashirsky, who was instilled in June to replace Brian Nelson...The Thunderbolts were the hottest team in the league in the second half, winning 25 of 28 at one point to take control of the West Division...Game One starter Ross Stout, who threw a complete game, was the MVP...What else is new, Stout threw a league best six complete games in the regular season...Lots to look forward to in 2009!! Offseason here we come...
