Frew and Many Positions Between

The Beach Bums today announced the signing of Bryan Frew, a second baseman by trade who can play any infield slot as well as help in the outfield...

Frew was the North Central Conference Player of the Year at Nebraska-Omaha, a Division II school...He spent time last year as a teammate of former Beach Bum Joe Blackburn in the Phillies system with the Williamsport Crosscutters and played five different positions...

Says Director of Baseball Operations Jason Wuerfel, "Bryan is a well-above average defensive player at almost any position on the field. He has a strong arm and plus speed, which makes him a good fit for our outfield, but he also has a terrific glove and can play any infield position. Because of our current needs, we will look to Bryan to start the season as the everyday third basemen, but he could easily cover a number of other positions for us in case of injury."

Frew will hold LS-1 status in the Frontier League...Teams may carry a maximum of seven LS-1 players on the roster, the Beach Bums will have eight on their spring training roster...
