Yepez to the Show

Here is a story so big that I felt like it deserved a pair of photos...Jose Yepez, who won titles with the RailCats in 2005 and 2007, was called up to the Majors yesterday, joining the Seattle Mariners...Yepez was called up when Erik Bedard was placed on the DL as the Mariners brought up two catchers from Triple-A Tacoma...While indications are that his stay may be brief (Read the Mariners release below), it is still very exciting news and a hot topic among the players, coaches, and staff...And, since Yepez was not on the 40-man roster, the Mariners added him to the 40-man, which at the very least could mean a return to the show in September when rosters expand...His promotion will be discussed in length on this week's edition of Woody's RailCats RoundUp on Saturday morning...

Yepez joins Tim Byrdak, who currently pitches for the Mets, and Nathan Haynes, as former RailCats to appear in the majors...
